Abstract
Source : CDRRMO Effective disaster preparedness is crucial for minimizing the impact of natural and human-induced hazards on communities. This layer focuses on the identification, mapping, and optimization of evacuation centers and evacuation routes within a local government unit (LGU). Utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, the research assesses the accessibility, capacity, and strategic locations of existing evacuation centers, and analyzes road networks to determine the most efficient evacuation routes. The layer aims to enhance public safety by providing clear, data-driven recommendations for emergency planning and response. The resulting maps and spatial data are intended to assist decision-makers in resource allocation, risk communication, and community awareness initiatives. Ultimately, this work supports a more resilient and prepared community by strengthening the infrastructure and processes surrounding disaster evacuation.

Purpose
The primary purpose of this project is to develop a comprehensive spatial database and visual map of evacuation centers and evacuation routes within the local government unit (LGU). This initiative aims to enhance disaster preparedness and response by identifying safe, accessible, and strategically located evacuation facilities, as well as optimal routes for rapid and orderly evacuation. The project supports risk reduction planning, decision-making, and community awareness by providing accurate and actionable geographic information.

Data Quality
The data used in this study on evacuation centers and evacuation routes were gathered from multiple sources, including official government records, field surveys, community feedback, and satellite imagery. To ensure accuracy and reliability, all spatial data were processed and validated using Geographic Information System (GIS) tools. Attribute data such as capacity, facilities, and accessibility of evacuation centers were cross-referenced with records from the city disaster risk reduction and management office (CDRRMO).
